Thursday, January 10, 2019

Blockchain technology is entirely decentralized, cost effective, secure and transparent. It is marking a major milestone in the Pakistan’s journey to promote financial inclusion.
Telenor Pakistan Microfinance Bank, in partnership with Valyou of Malaysia, has introduced Pakistan’s first blockchain-based cross-border remittance service, powered by industry-leading blockchain technology developed by Alipay, the online payment platform operated by Ant Financial Services Group (“Ant Financial”)
“This puts Pakistan on the map of very few countries in the world that have launched international remittance using blockchain technology,” State Bank of Pakistan Governor Tariq Bajwa.
Businesses which choose to accept its arrival and learn how the dawn of blockchain will not only change, but also improve their way of operating, will be the ones to reap the rewards as early pioneers within their respective industries. We are looking forward to achieve great prospects through the acceptance of this new technology in Pakistan.
Ant Financial Services Group Chairman and CEO Eric Jing said, “We’re thrilled to be part of Pakistan’s financial inclusion efforts and we’re dedicated to exploring breakthroughs and applying them to benefit more people in more places.”
